Last November the Environment Agency (EA) issued the water quality classifications for Coastguards Beach. This was the first season of testing since Bathing Water status was granted in early 2024. Disappointingly, but unsurprisingly, the classification was ‘Poor’.
WATER is supporting the Devon Osprey Partnership to encourage Ospreys to return to the Erme after a 200 year absence from South Devon.
This event is designed especially for children and their families, offering two beautiful walking routes along the South Devon coast.

At the end of November, WATER attended Wild About Devon’s event at the Watermark Centre in Ivybridge.
Following a lengthy application process last autumn, Wild About The Erme River (WATER) was granted charity status by the Charity Commission in October 2024.
Throughout the catchment, many different community groups are playing an active role in helping restore and maintain their stretch of the river.
